Regional Stakeholders,
During a crisis, timely, accurate, and actionable information is important. In order to help you get this information, GNO, Inc. is sending out regular updates. Please see below, and feel free to forward.
April 1, 2020 Update
News
- New Louisiana Small Business Loan Program – Today, Governor John Bel Edwards announced the creation of the Louisiana Loan Portfolio Guaranty Program. This program will offer loans of up to $100,000 to Louisiana small businesses of fewer than 100 employees that are impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Further, the loans will require no payments for 180 days, and carry below-market interest rates of no more than 3.5%. You can learn more about the program here. A full listing of participating bankers will be posted on Friday.
- Guidelines on Family and Medical Leave – The U.S. Department of Labor today posted a temporary rule issuing regulations on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. This Act provides for paid sick and family leave for employees who are not able to work from home. The rule specifies that an employee has to have a personal relationship with an individual in order to take emergency paid sick days to care for them, and also adds a definition for the ability to telework.
- St. John the Baptist Parish Curfew – St. John the Baptist Parish has issued a curfew beginning this evening at 9:00 pm. The daily curfew will be in effect from 9:00pm to 6:00 am. Workers who are deemed essential are exempt from the curfew, and businesses that are essential will be allowed to remain open during the curfew. This curfew is in addition to Louisiana’s statewide stay-at-home order.
Information
- Paycheck Protection Program Webinar – GNO, Inc, along with partners from Gulf Coast Bank, Jones Walker and Butterworth Strategies, presented a detailed webinar on the Paycheck Protection forgivable loan program. You can view the webinar here.
- CARES Act (PPP+) Binder – In order to help you see all relevant information in one place (including recent Treasury updates), we have consolidated documents, with a focus on the Paycheck Protection Program, into a CARES Act Binder.
