- High confidence of excessive heat today and Wednesday.
- Be advised that dangerous, excessive heat will likely continue into middle and even later portions of this week.
Heat Impacts:
- The combination of afternoon heat index readings between 115 and 120F degrees today and morning lows remaining well above normal will provide little if any relief for the body to cool for those without access to air conditioning or cooling centers.
- With extreme heat index values, heat illness can occur quickly. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children, the elderly, and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstance.
