Overview:
WHAT: Extreme Cold with areas of hard freeze warnings remaining. All areas are expected to be above freezing before 9 a.m. for the southern half of the area and shortly after 9 a.m. for areas to the north.
WHEN: Now through 9 a.m. today (Monday, Dec.26)
WHERE: All counties and parishes along and adjacent to the east/west state line.
CONFIDENCE: High confidence in hard freeze conditions this morning warming well above freezing today and a smaller area of sub-freezing temperatures tonight.
Impacts:
- Freeze/Hard Freeze
- Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 20s over southwestern Mississippi and adjacent Louisiana parishes tonight but hard freeze conditions may be limited to a very small area of southwest Mississippi
These conditions could still result in harm to people and animals as well as damage to unprotected pipes, citrus and other sensitive agricultural crops.
