Proclamation of Emergency Waterway Closure
WHEREAS, the Parish of Tangipahoa has declared that all Tangipahoa Parish waterways are closed to all RECREATIONAL traffic effective 15:00 pm CST Thursday September 5, 2024 due to high water and continued forecasted rainfall with southeasterly winds; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dawson Primes, Tangipahoa Parish Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, do hereby proclaim emergency closures of all waterways within Tangipahoa Parish to any and all recreational traffic until further notice; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office as well as Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be patrolling these areas and issuing fines to all violators.
