HAMMOND—Tangipahoa Parish road crews will require two road closures this week to complete maintenance work.
On Wednesday, Sept. 21, Elmwood Drive off of Yellow Water Road will be closed at a point exactly 450 feet from the entrance to the road. Crews will be performing road maintenance between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day, and detours will be posted.
On Thursday, September 22, crews will close Morgan Drive in the Shirles Meadows Subdivision to complete a cross drain project. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. that day, and signs will be posted at the closure point.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said work has been moving well over the last several days, thanks to the lack of rain. The parish’s Phase 22 overlay is more than halfway complete, and contractors are working hard to finish up this year’s project in the next few weeks.
Miller said crews have scheduled the following work during the week of Sept. 19, including patching on East Merry Street, Blaire Boulevard, Nicholas Circle, Naples Drive, Milan Drive, East Charbonnet, North Charbonnet, Kayla Drive, Penny Drive, Wood, and Blythwood Boulevard.
Milling work is planned on Wood Avenue, Blythwood Boulevard, and Bella Garden Circle. Crews will be cutting cement on Bella Garden Circle as well.
Dressing is scheduled on Dummyline Road and Morris Retreat Road.
RPC crews plan to do milling and paving on Happywoods, North Baptist and Wardline Roads this week.
