Crossover Road Bridge Closure Will Extend into Friday, August 1

INDEPENDENCE—Due to complications related to the scope of work necessary and two days of excessive afternoon rains, Crossover Road will remain closed until 5 p.m. this Friday, August 1.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said Crossover Road is closed at the timber bridge, which is located approximately one-quarter mile north of Robertson Road in Independence. Crews have been on site since early Tuesday, July 29, working on a bridge project; however, complications have forced officials to extend the closure by one day to complete the work that is necessary to safely reopen the roadway.
No traffic will be allowed through the closure area. Signs are posted and motorists are being detoured accordingly.
