WHAT: Wind chills of 18 to 25 F expected
WHEN: From midnight tonight to 8 AM CST Friday morning
WHERE: Along and north of I-12 in Louisiana as well as southwest and coastal Mississippi
CONFIDENCE: Confidence is moderate to high that wind chills will reach the upper teens to mid 20s
IMPACTS:
- Wind chills will fall into the upper teens into the mid 20s. Cold wind chills could lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
- Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s and some places may reach below freezing for up to 2 to 7 hours, with longer duration further northward. This could damage tender vegetation.
