Overview:
WHAT: A Freeze Warning has been issued for temperatures near or just below freezing. Red Flag Warning in effect for winds of 15 to 20 mph and relative humidity of less than 25%.
WHEN: Wednesday morning there will be a few hours of at or below-freezing temperatures. This afternoon there will be a few hours of critical fire weather conditions.
WHERE: Locations along and north of the I-12 corridor through Coastal MS and Southeast Louisiana for the Freeze Warning. All of the Coastal Mississippi counties for the Red Flag Warning.
CONFIDENCE:
- There is high confidence that there will be a few hours of near or sub-freezing temperatures Wednesday morning and critical fire weather conditions this afternoon.
Impacts:
- Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s and will be below freezing for 2 to 3 hours.
- These conditions can damage citrus and other sensitive agricultural crops
- Increased risk of wildfires.
