Hon. Emile "Joey" Mayeaux
Joey Mayeaux is the Tangipahoa Parish Councilman for District 6. He is passionate about serving the people in his area, improving the litter and abatement program, working with the local police to reduce crime and drug activity and making an overall difference in our Parish.
Joey was born in New Orleans, LA on October 31, 1957 and is the son of the late Emile Joseph (Rocky) Mayeaux and Marianna Mayeaux. They moved to the Hammond area in 1960 and he has lived here for all his whole adult life. He is a graduate of Hammond High School 1975 and is the co-owner of Rocky’s Body and owner of Joey Mayeaux Rentals LLC. He is happily married to Joyce Mayeaux and has two children, Joseph Mayeaux and Crystal Collins. He is also the proud grandfather to Niles, Emma, Ava, Porter, Walker, and Mia.
Joey has a history of community service in Tangipahoa Parish. He was a board member of Quad Area Community Action and Veterans for twelve years and a committee member for Tangi Clean for over ten years. He continues his community service by serving on the Railroad Committee, Alcohol Committee and Subdivision Planning Committee for Tangipahoa Parish. Joey is also an active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
