Winter Weather Advisory for the potential of sleet and freezing rain.
WHEN: Marginal risk for severe weather mainly around midnight tonight through early Thursday morning.
Wintry mix could start late Thursday evening and remain through Friday morning.
WHERE: Marginal risk for severe primarily along and northwest of a Baton Rouge to McComb line.
For any wintry mix, along and north of Interstate 10/12. A mix of sleet or freezing rain could also be possible south of this line.
CONFIDENCE: Moderate confidence in strong to severe storms.
Moderate confidence in potential for winter weather, the largest uncertainty of the winter event is areal extent.

- Strong wind gusts in excess of 40 to 60mph.

Winter weather:
- Areas that receive freezing rain could see a light glaze of ice generally less than 0.10 of an inch. This could lead to hazardous travel on some roadways especially bridges and overpasses Friday morning.
- Very cold wind chills are expected Friday morning, as cold as the mid to upper teens to 20’s across the area which could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
