WHAT: MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather and Heavy Rainfall
WHEN: Tonight into early Wednesday morning for the risk of severe weather. Today and tonight for the threat of locally heavy rainfall.
WHERE: For the severe weather threat, mainly for coastal SE LA and southeastern/coastal MS. For the heavy rain threat, all of southeast LA and south MS.
CONFIDENCE:
Low confidence of strong to severe storms as well as the potential for flash flooding.
Impacts:
The main threats associated with any locally strong to severe severe storm will be:
- Locally strong wind gusts 40 to 60 mph will be possible which may lead to scattered wind damage and/or local power outages.
- A few isolated, weak tornadoes will be possible.
- Locally intense rainfall rates in any stronger storm may lead to ponding of water in low lying and poor drainage areas.
