TPG Road Work: Week of August 4; Berry Bowl Road Closed Tuesday for Cross Drain Project

INDEPENDENCE—Berry Bowl Road in Independence will be closed on Tuesday, August 5, for a cross drain project.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said parish crews will be installing a cross drain at the intersection of Berry Bowl Road and Danna Road starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Weather-permitting, the work should be completed around 1 p.m. that day.
Miller said Berry Bowl Road will be completely closed to traffic at that intersection. All traffic traveling on Berry Bowl Road will be detoured east to Highway 51, and traffic on Alessi Road/Danna Road will be subject to intermittent delays due to flagging operations. Motorists should expect delays.
In addition to this cross drain project, road crews are scheduled to work in the following areas during the week of August 4:
  • Milling Operations: West Black Cat, Mandella, North Duncan, and South Lewiston;
  • Shoulder Dressing: South I-12 Service Road, Whiskey Lane, New Genessee, Arbordale, Old Covington, Chappapeela, East Park, Holly Drive, and Oak Hollow;
  • Soil Cement: Brown Road in the Village of Tangipahoa, Baytown Hills, Company Town, and Johnson Holton Road;
  • Paving Operations: Gemstone Place, Jaelyn, West Black Cat, Mandella, Perry Lane, North Duncan, and South Lewiston;
  • Preliminary Patching: Chemekette and Frank Lane.
All work is weather-permitting, and motorists can expect intermittent delays in construction zones.
