Here is an update concerning the heavy rain threat today and Thursday.
WHAT: MARGINAL RISK of heavy rain that could lead to localized flash flooding
WHEN: During the afternoon and evening for both days.
WHERE: For today much of the region. For Thursday, mostly southeast Louisiana and southwest portions of Mississippi.
CONFIDENCE: We are confident that there will be thunderstorms across the area and that a few will produce heavy rainfall. We are less confident in exactly where the greatest threat will be.
Impacts: High rainfall rates of 3+ inches per hour could quickly lead to runoff with ponding of water in low lying areas and localized flash flooding.
