Weather Update: January 10, 2025

Overview:

WHAT: 

  • Wind Advisory for 20 – 30 mph sustained and up to 45mph gusts.
  • Rains last night through this morning are a bit less than previously forecasted.  Currently totaling just under 1″, with no more than an additional 1″ expected through late tonight.  
  • One more cold morning with Minimum Apparent Temperatures around 25 to 32 degrees.

WHEN

  • Wind Advisory runs 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. today.
  • Rain showers continue through late tonight.
  • Minimum Apparent Temperatures will occur early Saturday morning between about 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.

WHERE

  • Wind Advisory over coastal areas, including the Northshore.
  • Rain will exit the area, clearing west to east.
  • Cold Minimum Apparent Temperatures across the region.

CONFIDENCE:  

  • Confidence is high that it will be windy today.
  • Confidence is decreasing that there will be impacts due to rainfall and associated runoff.
  • Confidence is high that Minimum Apparent Temperatures will be low for one more early morning.

Impacts:

  • Winds, especially higher gusts, may cause downed tree limbs and/or power lines.
  • Minimal impacts are anticipated due to the rainfall.
  • Above freezing temperatures combined with winds early Saturday morning will result in Minimum Apparent Temperatures at freezing to around 25F.
