DOTD will begin work on a new concrete bridge on North Hoover Road the week after Thanksgiving.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said DOTD will close North Hoover Road on November 27, to replace the old timber bridge with a new concrete bridge. The point of closure is approximately 1.11 miles south of Sisters Road and .37 miles north of LA 22.
The estimated cost of the bridge replacement is $1.84 million. The project is expected to take several months to complete.
Miller encourages motorists to begin mapping out alternate routes in advance of this closure.
