Excessive Heat Warning: All of SE LA.
Heat Advisory: Southern MS.
Severe weather Today: SE LA and SE MS.

CONFIDENCE:
- Low to medium confidence with the placement of scattered storms this afternoon/evening. Where storms do develop, they may likely become strong to locally severe.
- Medium confidence with the potential of more widespread strong to severe storms on Tuesday.
- High confidence with the potential for dangerous heat indices today.
Severe Weather Impacts: The main threats associated with any severe storms today will be:
- Damaging Winds: Wind gusts greater than 50 to 70 mph will be possible, which may lead to damage to trees and powerlines.
- Large Hail: Large hail 1 inch or greater in diameter will be possible. Wind blown hail could cause additional damage.
- Heavy Rain: Storms today will be capable of heavy rainfall with rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour.
- Tornadoes: An isolated tornado or waterspout cannot be ruled out.
- Heat Impacts: Dangerously hot conditions with heat indices up to 115 degrees will cause health issues, especially to anyone outdoors for an extended period of time.
