Roseland Incident Response Update: September 9, 2025

Progress continues on the Roseland Incident Response. Through Tuesday morning, we can report the following updates:
 
Williams continues fire watch operations at the Smitty’s facility. EPA shares that the fire is now fully extinguished and 100 percent contained.
 
Booming and recovery efforts at the ponds continue with material collection happening 24 hours/day.
 
No change in air monitoring readings.
 
Today, two to four vehicles are scheduled for removal from the footprint of the Smitty’s facility.
 
Liquid Recovery Totals through Tuesday morning include:
**On Site (Oil and Water): 3,005,688 gallons
**On Site (Grease and Water): 9,996 gallons
**Tangipahoa River (Skimmer): 78,414 gallons
**Tangipahoa River (Marco Boats): 65,310 gallons
**Pond D-1: 285,810 gallons
**Pond D-2: 201,222 gallons
**Pond D-3: 84,630 gallons
Total: 3,731,070 gallons recovered to date
 
Personnel on the ground include representatives from Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana State Police, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Environmental Protection Agency, and 249 contractors in the field.
