Progress continues on the Roseland Incident Response. Through Thursday morning, we can report the following updates:

- Recovery occurred at all four ponds overnight. Collection point D-1 R2 had no operations due to no recoverable oil being present. Seven recovery points were utilized overnight. Crews have 55 empty frac tanks available for waste recovery at the ponds and for stormwater management.
- EPA will host office hours today (Thursday, October 9) at the Amite Senior Center, Amite Library, Dollar General in Roseland, and the Amite Community Center.
- 10 vacuum trucks were operating Wednesday night at the ponds for oily waste recovery.
- EPA continues to pump runoff from the facility’s drainage ditch along US 51 into frac tanks for stormwater management overnight.
- EPA and LDEQ are continuing joint RCRA inspection at the Smitty’s Supply facility today.
- LDEQ continues to conduct ambient air monitoring with the Mobile Air Monitoring Laboratory near the Ponchatoula Fire Department. There has been no change in air monitoring readings through early Thursday.
