Overview:

WHAT: MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather on Saturday

MARGINAL RISK of Excessive Rainfall on Sunday

WHEN: Saturday mainly during the afternoon and evening and again on Sunday.

WHERE: Along, north and east of a line from Woodville MS to Slidell LA for severe weather on Saturday and for the entire area for excessive rainfall on Sunday.

CONFIDENCE:  We have moderate confidence that there will be scattered thunderstorms across the area on both Saturday and Sunday. Less confidence at this time on which storms will become severe or will lead to heavier rainfall rates and exactly where those strong/severe storms will occur.

Impacts:

The main threats associated with any severe storms on Saturday will be:

Damaging Winds:

  • Wind gusts greater than 60 mph will be possible
  • Trees and powerlines could be damaged and lead to isolated/scattered power outages

Large Hail >= 1 inch

The main threats associated with any severe storms on Sunday will be:

Heavy Rainfall:

  • Rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour will be likely with stronger storms
  • Locally heavier rainfall rates will be possible
