AMITE—Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill will continue to operate through the COVID-19 response effort.

“We’ve had many calls and requests for updates on the landfill, and I want to reassure the public that our landfill is operational and serving the public,” Miller said.

Located at 57510 Hano Road west of Independence, the Tangipahoa Parish Landfill provides an environmentally safe place for residents to dispose of household garbage. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon.
