Tangi Alert - This is an emergency notification program will provide residents with alerts about any hazardous event. Messages will be sent to residents on their preferred contact paths - cell phone, SMS, home phone, email, fax, pager and more - to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information.

Tangipahoa Emergency Preparedness - The Tangipahoa Parish Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness (TPOHSEP) is the coordinating agency for emergency and disaster activities.

President Robby Miller is speaking to a crowded room in Washington D.C. as president of the Parish Presidents Association. Miller is joined on stage with his fellow parish presidents as they discuss tough issues like the National Flood Insurance Program and FEMA maps which are impacting all of us. Miller said the association is accomplishing many things, and he applauded the way the group is banding together as one unified voice to make a difference for the residents of all their parishes.

Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Storm Marco Update - August 22, 6 AM

Here is an update concerning Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Storm Marco.

Changes from previous update: 

  • There are minor changes in forecast tracks for both storms, and an upward adjustment of the maximum winds of Laura. Tropical Storm Laura's track has shifted slightly west in the north Gulf of Mexico and at landfall in south central Louisiana. Self-Serve Sandbag Stations Open At Noon On Saturday, Aug. 22

As forecasters continue to track the progress of two tropical weather systems heading toward the Gulf, Tangipahoa Parish Government will open self-serve sandbag locations at fire stations throughout the parish starting at noon on Saturday, Aug. 22. Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said self-serve sandbag stations will be set up at the main fire station in each of the following communities:
